Projects in Production

<1992> - A moving image archive/exhibition/book (In Production)

About the Project

The year played host to economic crises, explosions of the nation state, and the continued process of the remapping of political representation, with seemingly discreet and local disturbances rising to the surface.  <1992> is conceived as an investigation of grassroots political and social organisations during a period of crisis, collisions and eruptions across the globe.   Concerned with the personal collective experience and taking 1992 as a locus, the project will elicit an understanding of the how the moments came to pass.

Space Place

Space Place was a residency with Amanda Egbe and Rastko Novakovic working out of the Stephen Lawrence Centre (SLC), Space Place was a participatory visual arts based projectthat looked at the architecture and history of Deptford, South London.

Starting from a discussion about space and place, we asked 3 questions:

Life in Peckham

Life in Peckham was a two screen video installation, the work came about as part of a commission from Arts Express where I along with 3 other artists worked with local students at schools to explore the history of Peckham.

The final works produced where exhibited at the Life in Peckham exhibition at Area10, as part of the I Love Peckham festival. Working with students at Harris Academy at Peckham school, we explored post war Peckham, using archive footage, newspaper cuttings, and photographs along with exploratory walks where we researched and documented locations and events that we had decided were of some significance.
